Hue at Home with Tracy Koga: National Asian Heritage Symposium 2022
During the first weekend of November, the Third National Asian Heritage Symposium will be held in Winnipeg, Manitoba. With the symposium theme of Building Bridges towards Healing in mind, the symposium is being organized by the Asian Heritage Society of Manitoba along with representatives from the Turtle Island Project and the African Communities of Manitoba, with a specific emphasis on cross-cultural connections and dialogue
Symposium Schedule and Locations
Friday: Reception, Welcome, and Pow-Wow at Canadian Museum for Human Rights – Buhler Hall (85 Israel Asper Way, Winnipeg, MB R3C 0L5). Starts 7:00 pm. The Pow-Wow on this day is open to the public for free.
Saturday: Keynote address by Orlando Bowen, various sessions on variety of topics relating to minority artists and anti-racism, and themed sharing circles at Canadian Museum for Human Rights. Keynote starts at 9:30 am. Dinner at 6:30 pm at Japanese Cultural Association of Manitoba (180 McPhillips Street, Winnipeg, MB, R3E 2J9).
Sunday: Asian Heritage Month discussions from 9:00 am to 1:00pm at Humphry’s Inn and Suites (260 Main Street, Winnipeg, MB, R3C 1A9).
