Happy Canada Day! 🇨🇦 Thank you to everyone who joined us in celebrating Asian Heritage Month this May. We proudly recognize the invaluable contributions of Asian Canadians to our diverse nation. Embracing multiculturalism, we acknowledge Canada's historical imperfections and our commitment to Indigenous reconciliation. Together, let's foster an inclusive society that cherishes diversity and strives for a brighter future.

Asian Heritage Society of Manitoba members gather and reside on Treaty One Territory, ancestral lands of the Anishinaabe, Anishininewuk, Dakota Oyate, Denesuline, Ininiwuk, and Nehethowuk peoples. We acknowledge Manitoba is located on the National homeland of the Red River Métis. We acknowledge northern Manitoba includes lands that were and are the ancestral lands of the Inuit.

We, the Asian Heritage Society of Manitoba, humbly acknowledge our place within this rich tapestry of cultures and histories. Committed to the principles of truth and reconciliation, we pledge to actively engage in fostering relationships, understanding, and collaboration with Indigenous peoples. With commitment and action, we contribute to the ongoing spirit of reconciliation, ensuring a future where our shared responsibilities keep us all together.

June 23, 2026 was a meaningful evening in Winnipeg as the Asian Heritage Society of Manitoba attended the Canadian Race Relations Fdn / Fondation canadienne des relations raciales Community Reception. We were proud to celebrate Dr. Art Miki @artmiki.ca — founder and past president of the Asian Heritage Society of Manitoba, and a key figure in the early history of CRRF — as keynote speaker for a gathering centred on reflection, connection, and community dialogue.

The event brought together local organizations and community leaders committed to advancing anti-racism and building more inclusive communities. Grateful to CRRF for hosting such an important reception and for creating space for meaningful conversation and relationship-building.
